Iyabo Anisulowo, a former minister of education, who regained freedom on Tuesday, May 3, has described her experience as “terrible and dehumanising”. Anisulowo was abducted on Wednesday, April 27, along Sawonjo-Iganokoto road in Yewa-South council area of Ogun state. Premium Times reports that the 65-year-old ex-minister arrived at the government house at Isale-Igbehin at about 10.p.m. in company with Abdulmajid Ali, the state commissioner of police. READ ALSO: Police to rescue kidnapped Anisulowo with two helicopters Recounting her ordeal, Anisulowo said that she had not eaten since Wednesday and only lived on water. She added she knew security agents were searching for her, and this gave her strength and hope that she would be eventually rescued.


Ibikunle Amosun, the governor of Ogun state, commended the security agencies which deployed their personnel and equipment in the rescue effort. He noted although the abductors demanded a ransom of N200 million, nothing was paid. Expressing confidence in the ability of the police to provide security, Amosun urged the federal government to adequately equip the police force. The police commissioner in his turn revealed that the ring leader of the gang behind the abduction had been arrested.
